The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will host Masonry Cavity Wall Design, presented by Dow Building Solutions, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 10:00 AM CDT.

This free program will provide the design and contractor community with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions when specifying a simple solution for exceptional long-term thermal insulating performance and excellent air/vapor barrier capability in brick and block walls.

  • Understanding of how to properly install the components of this simple wall design
  • Understanding of building code requirements as it relates to mass walls
  • Overview of how wall design affects LEED credits
The webinar will be presented by Dan Tempas, Sr. Building Scientist. Dan Tempas is a graduate of The University of Illinois with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Nuclear Engineering. He is currently a HERS rater and sits on the RESNET Training Committee. He has worked for The Dow Chemical Company in the various research, product development, and service capacities in the Building Solution’s Business for 28 years and is currently a senior development engineer. Tempas also worked in Dow’s Computer Research group where he handled 3D computer graphics, digital video and computer based training. He is LEED Green Associate and has also been a member of ASTM, EIMA and BTECC.

Mason contractors registered for Masonry Certification will receive 1.50 credit in the masonry products discipline upon completion of this course.
