Report of the MCAA TEAM Awards Committee

TEAM Awards

The 2013 TEAM Awards Banquet was held in conjunction with the Midyear Meeting in Park City, UT. We had 58 entries this year. The banquet was a huge success, with Tom Clark livening things up as our M.C. for the night. We were pleased with the attendance and even had to up our headcount at the last minute.

This year it was determined that we will only have the TEAM Awards every other year to keep excitement up. The next TEAM Awards Banquet will be held in conjunction with the Midyear Meeting in September 2014. The location is still to be determined. The entry qualifications will be updated to extend the eligibility time limits for projects since the competition is now every other year. Like last year, we will still allow projects that were entered in the 2012 competition to be automatically enrolled in the 2014 competition if they are still eligible and pay a reprocessing fee.

In addition to this, we will be actively seeking sponsors for the 2014 TEAM Awards Banquet. If you are interested in being a sponsor of this event, please speak to any of the TEAM Awards committee members or a MCAA staff member. We depend on sponsorships for this event to be a success.

Vision Awards

The Vision Awards celebrate school districts, universities, communities, and architects who have demonstrated outstanding use of masonry in their projects and incorporate masonry in their campuses, communities, and buildings. The 2012 Vision Awards were awarded at the 2012 TEAM Awards Banquet. The next Vision Awards will be held in conjunction with the 2014 TEAM Awards Banquet as before.

Year Ahead

The TEAM Awards Committee will continue to redevelop and revitalize the TEAM Awards and Vision Awards into successful competitions and awards ceremonies to promote the masonry industry and recognize award winning architects, general contractors, mason contractors, owners, and associate members.
