Hilti celebrates grand opening of Texas locations

Words: Carla AndersonHilti is proud to be calling Texas home for more than 250 team members. To celebrate, Hilti held grand openings at their Hilti Western Hemisphere Product Development and Tool Service Center and North America Corporate Headquarters on Thursday, June 18.

The morning began with a ceremony at the Hilti Western Hemisphere Product Development and Tool Service Center Facility in Irving, Texas. Speakers included Gerald Farris, Mayor Pro Tem; Christoph Loos, Hilti Group Chief Executive Officer; Stefan Nöken, Member of the Executive Board; and Cary Evert, Hilti North America President and CEO.

The facility houses the Product Development and Testing Lab and the second largest Hilti Tool Service Center in North America. With over 65,000 sf, the space allows for cutting-edge technology and equipment so Hilti can better serve their customers. The facility serves two main purposes - certified technicians perform tool repairs and maintenance, laser calibrations, and battery checks; engineers, designers and product specialists develop, test and provide customer support for fire protection, anchoring and direct fastening products and applications.

“This new facility represents the next step in growing our Hilti North America presence over the next decade,” said Cary Evert, Hilti North America President and CEO. “The further strengthening of our service network and product development capabilities ensures that Hilti will continue to provide innovative solutions to our customers that drive productivity on the jobsite.”

Later that evening Hilti hosted Lori McMahon, Deputy Chief of Staff for Congressman Sam Johnson, Lissa Smith, Mayor Pro Tem, and Dr. Christoph Loos, Hilti Group Chief Executive Officer along with other Hilti executives, customers and team members at the grand opening of the Hilti North America Headquarters in Plano, Texas.

By relocating, Hilti is placing the company closer to the dynamic construction market in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and a broad base of customers in the company’s core construction and civil energy segments.

“We selected Plano for several reasons, including the vibrant growth of the city and the proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex,” said Cary Evert. “Our next step was to identify the perfect office space to house our workplace of the future.”

Hilti selected the Legacy Tower building at 7250 Dallas Parkway as their new headquarters and occupies two floors. The office space places special emphasis on its people and innovative products through unique architectural and design elements.

The 10th floor highlights elements of team members working together in a collaborative environment. A special feature on this floor is the personalization wall in recognition of team members who made the move to Plano to be part of the Hilti North America Corporate Headquarters team.

Whereas floor 10 puts special emphasis on the people, Floor 11 showcases Hilti products. Throughout this floor you will find awards, exhibits, and other elements that highlight the innovation Hilti is committed to creating.
