California Fastest Trowel on the Block Competition

Words: Lindsay BartoAngelus Block Company, Orco Block and Hardscape and RCP Block and Brick will host the 2017 California Fastest Trowel on the Block Competition. The event will showcase masonry competitions from the high school, apprentice and journeyman levels. Only those working journeyman masons who have the skill, confidence and courage to face-off with the Industry’s best will compete.

The competition will pit three man teams working together in a show of speed and craftsmanship towards the grand prize of $2,500 plus sponsorship to the National Competition held in Las Vegas, Nevada in early 2018. The event will also include the Masonry Industry Training Association’s High School Competition and the Apprentice Skills Challenge. Contestants range in age from 14 years and up.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, 6:00 am to Noon at the EZ Mix Products Plant located at 3355 Industrial Drive, Rialto. The community is invited to attend. There will be many FREE activities for the kids including a bounce house, giant slide, obstacle course, popcorn cart and of course adults can enjoy the hot dogs, taco stands and burger truck; while supplies last.
