w Scaffold Lock
A new lock for attaching scaffold braces to a frame, designated MARVEL "Zip-Lock" is announced by MARVEL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION, Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The new "Zip-Lock" is unsurpassed in ease, safety and security. According to Charles Juculano, president of MARVEL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION, who invented the brace lock and has applied for a patent on it, the new MARVEL "Zip-Lock" has a built-in lock and nothing to come loose. To make connection between a brace and an upright scaffold frame, the looped around sleeve of the "Zip-Lock" connector is raised, the brace is hooked to a stud and the sleeve is released. By its own weight the rigid sleeve moves to a position that insures a secure connection.
Juculano says that the "Zip-Lock" connector has met with an enthusiastic response from MARVEL's customers who have had a preview of it, and who describe it as "What the Industry has been waiting for."

Control File
Percon Performance Control Co., Trenton, NJ, introduces a new Performance Control File, Model No. 1800, designed to record and hold important job data relating to the sale and/or construction of real estate properties. Model No. 1800 is a rugged manila file envelope with a secure string clasp to safely hold all records, with imprinted headings and columns on the face of the envelope to record all pertinent information.
By using Model No. 1800, the builder and/or selling agent can follow the full transaction of each specific job without need for opening the envelope, thus opportunity for missing data material is held to a minimum. Items such as names of purchaser, attorneys, architects; dates of construction, closing, decoration, etc. and lot, exterior and interior specifications become obtainable at a glance, without rummaging through the masses of papers one collects during such a transaction.
Model No. 1800 is ideal for developers, Realtors, builders, brokers, contractors, salesmen, and job foremen. Many developers present Model No. 1800 to purchasers as a convenience item for storing and recording the many papers and records associated with house-buying or construction.

Portable Heater
Champion Heater Company, manufacturers of Job Maker portable space heaters has announced the development of a 140,000 B.T.U. class vented heater usable with a stack where absolutely smoke-free, soot-free, odor-free heat is essential. While other space heaters are direct fired and all the products of combustion go into the area being heated, with CHAMPION'S vented heater these products go out the stack. When used with a stack this heater operates just like a home furnace with a chimney.
Known as the Job Maker Vented Heater-T, the heater is equipped with a cartridge type fuel filter, high-heat safety switch and an automatic thermostat. It features automatic purging for prolonged heater life, operates on standard 110 Volt, AC current and burns kerosene or No. 1 fuel oil. According to the manufacturer, the new vented heater is perfect for curing green concrete as it virtually eliminates carbon dioxide problems.
The Vented Heater-T has an Underwriter Approved motor and burner unit the same type used in home heating. It is equipped with semi-pneumatic tires and steel handles for easy portability.

New Coating
Currently, exterior wall maintenance costs are being reduced because of Flexseal, a silicone-based liquid which is applied by brush or spray. Flexseal has been developed to effectively repel water on cinder block, brick, concrete, tile, stucco, limestone, sandstone. It provides an invisible, weather-resistant coating. Because rain is unable to penetrate the Flexsealed surface, dirt, grime and soot are automatically washed away by water. Efflorescence and blushing are prevented by Flexseal. Even eliminates water-streaked rust stains from casements, gutters, etc. Flexseal can either be sprayed or brushed. No special surface preparation is necessary, and can be applied in temperatures slow as 15°F. Packaged in 6, 12, 18, 30 and 55 gallon drums. Complete details will be supplied by Flexrock Company, G & Venango Sts, Philadelphia, Pa., 19134.
