MCAA Holds Two In-House Wallbracing Seminars in August

Words: Alan JohnsonIn the month of August, MCAA's Director of Engineering, Rashod R. Johnson taught two separate 4 hour Wall Bracing Design Seminars, one in Cincinnati, OH and the other in Phoenix, AZ. Allied Construction Industries, ACI, was the host organization in Cincinnati. ACI is a non-profit trade association comprised of 600 member companies who employ more than 30,000 individuals throughout Greater Cincinnati. The seminar was attended by 42 foremen from 8 different mason contractors. The Arizona Mason Contractors Association hosted its second wall bracing seminar this year for over 30 foremen from 5 different mason contractors. Both four hour courses were very helpful and informative. By the end of each seminar, most of the foremen stated they were much more comfortable erecting masonry wall bracing than before they took the course.

One of MCAA's goals is to teach contractors and their employees how to be safer on construction job sites. In just under a month, we managed to teach 75 people and 13 mason contractors the importance and proper techniques of bracing masonry walls.

If your company needs Wall Bracing Seminars, please contact Rashod R. Johnson, MCAA's Director of Engineering at rjohnson@masoncontractors.org to book your in-house seminar.
