The new JLG 340AJ articulating boom lift was awarded Best New Product of the Year.
JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, announced that the company received two prestigious awards at the Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) Annual Convention, which was held this year in Perth, Australia on May 10—13. JLG was named “Access Supplier of the Year,” and the new JLG 340AJ articulating boom lift was awarded “Best New Product of the Year.”

“We’re honored that JLG was selected Supplier of the Year and that our 340AJ received Best Product of the Year by the HRIA,” said Rick Alton, JLG Industries vice president of international sales, market development and customer support. “These outstanding awards reinforce JLG’s reputation in the industry and are a result of the vision, planning and hard work by everyone in the JLG organization.”

Rental companies throughout Australia voted JLG the Access Supplier of the year. The significant achievement is a ringing endorsement of the company’s customer service and support to this particular industry.

Representatives from throughout the hire and rental industry — including building and construction, excavating and earthmoving, hoists, materials handling, mining, scaffolding, among others — attended the HRIA Convention. The three-day tradeshow included two indoor display days and a field day during which participants tested a wide range of the latest equipment from conference exhibitors. The 340AJ proved particularly popular and was in constant demand for driving demonstrations, reinforcing the judges’ decision to name it Best Product of 2011. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the award honors JLG’s research, design, engineering and production expertise.

The 340AJ articulating boom lift is easy to service and maintain. The 340AJ features steel hoods to increase its durability, and boasts a 500-pound capacity in addition to its 34-foot lift height and 17-foot up-and-over reach. The 340AJ meets sustainability regulations with its environmentally-friendly Tier 4 diesel engine. A gas/liquid propane engine is also available. The lower cost of ownership and acquisition cost, coupled with its reach and terrainability, make the 340AJ ideal for general contractors, steel erectors, painters and commercial construction workers, among many others.
