STIHL Inc. is pleased to announce that Karl Angler, vice president of finance for the company, has been named Virginia CFO of the Year by Virginia Business magazine. The magazine chose Mr. Angler from a group of four other finalists in the category for large private companies.

“Since his arrival here at STIHL Inc. in 2002, Karl has made significant and frequent contributions to the growth and management of our company,” said Fred Whyte, president of STIHL Inc. “I’m pleased to personally congratulate him on his noteworthy achievement. At the same time, I must also wish him well as he assumes his new duties with our founding company in Germany next year. He will be missed.”

Mr. Angler guided STIHL Inc. through the recession of 2009 without laying off regular employees and also keeping employee benefits intact. STIHL Inc. achieved record sales the following year while maintaining a high level of product quality. In May 2012, Mr. Angler will continue contributing to the success of the company in his new role as CFO for the STIHL Group worldwide in Germany.
